Q: Who is this program for?
A: Advanced Academy Training is for athletes in Grades 6–8 (current school year) at beginner to intermediate levels who are committed to improving their volleyball fundamentals and technique in a focused, supportive environment.

Q: How is this program different from previous years?
A: This program was previously known as Select Training and is now part of Unity’s Athlete Development Pathway—designed to give athletes a clear route from skill-building to competitive play.

Q: What skills will my athlete work on?
A: Athletes will develop consistent ball control, game-ready movement, and strong decision-making through high-repetition technical drills and coach-led feedback.

Q: How long are the sessions?
A: Each session is 2 hours long, giving athletes ample time to learn, practice, and refine skills each week.

Q: What is the athlete-to-coach ratio?
A: We maintain a low athlete-to-coach ratio to ensure every player receives personalized feedback and plenty of repetitions.

Q: What should my athlete bring?
A: Indoor court shoes, athletic clothing, and at least one filled water bottle. Knee pads are recommended but not required.

Q: Do I need previous volleyball experience?
A: No. While many athletes in the program have some volleyball background, it’s open to beginners who are motivated to learn and grow.

Q: Is there gameplay in this program?
A: Yes—while the focus is on technical skill development, gameplay is incorporated to help athletes apply what they learn in real game situations.

Q: Will this prepare my athlete for competitive volleyball?
A: Yes. The program is designed to build the technical and game sense foundation needed to confidently transition into more competitive environments.
